Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a respiratory virus that was first identified in 2001. It is known to cause illnesses ranging from mild cold-like symptoms to more severe respiratory conditions, particularly in infants, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

Mild Cases: Runny nose, cough, sore throat, and mild fever.
Severe Cases: Difficulty breathing, wheezing, and pneumonia.
Transmission:
HMPV spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It can also be transmitted by touching surfaces contaminated with these droplets and then touching the face.

Prevention:
Regular handwashing with soap and water.
Avoiding close contact with individuals showing respiratory symptoms.
Disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
Staying home when feeling unwell to prevent spreading the virus to others.
